On November 7, 2007, the USCIS announced that it released a new version of Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. Employers are encouraged to use this new form immediately, however, it will not be mandatory until it is published in the Federal Register. Remember, all employers must verify their employees’ eligibility to work in the United States. Verification is done on form I-9. This is simply a change in which form must be used. Keep an eye open on our site for information on when this new form becomes mandatory. Click to view new form I-9
