In celebration of Immigrant Heritage Month, Cowles & Thompson, PC presents the 2015 Immigrant Journey Awards on June 12. Winners of the Immigrant Entrepreneur, Immigrant Professional Excellence, Immigrant Spirit, and Immigrant Advocate Awards will be announced at the luncheon.
May 5, 2015 – DALLAS — In its commitment to spotlight immigrant achievements in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Cowles & Thompson, a nationally ranked Dallas law firm, will honor immigrant professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and advocates at the 2015 Immigrant Journey Awards on Friday, June 12, 2015. Of the 14 nominees, two award winners each will be named in the Immigrant Entrepreneur and Immigrant Professional Excellence categories, while one winner each will receive recognition in the Immigrant Advocate and Immigrant Spirit categories.
“We meet immigrants when they first decide to make the United States their new home,” said Ann Badmus, immigration law section leader of the firm. “So it’s very rewarding to honor these accomplished individuals with much-deserved recognition. Their stories show the strength and determination that have made America great.”

The keynote speaker is Myron Rolle, Rhodes Scholar and former NFL athlete. Myron’s parents immigrated from Bahamas and he is only the third Rhodes Scholar to play in the NFL to date.
Through a competitive process, the Immigrant Journey Awards identifies outstanding new American high school students in North Texas for the American Dream Scholarship. Three scholarship winners will be announced at the luncheon as well.
