October 2017 Visa Bulletin

The Department of State has posted the Visa Bulletin for October 2017. Fortunately, EB-1 is now current for all nationals. EB-2 is now current for all except Indian and Chinese nationals. And EB-3 continues to be current for all except those born in India, China, and Philippines.

Family based visas are moving forward slightly.

The government fiscal year starts October 1, 2017, so the forward movement is driven by the influx of new immigrant visas for the 2018 fiscal year.

Note: As of September 12, 2017, USCIS has not advised whether in October 2017, it will accept adjustment of status applications for family- or employment-based petitions based on filing dates, rather than final action dates. USCIS anticipates that this information will be released within one week of the monthly Visa Bulletin.
