On September 24, 2008, USCIS anncouced that Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, for those from El Salvador will be extended for an additional eighteen months. The current expiration date for TPS for those from El Salvador is March 9, 2009. Individuals with TPS from El Salvador will be required to reregister. If approved, TPS will be extended until the September 9, 2010.
